NEWROCK YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER ASSOCIATION'S goals are to strengthen, teach and guide young boys and girls in the areas of sportsmanship, physical activity, teamwork and community pride. We want to stem the growing tide of young people who lack focus, direction and positive mentors in their life. We use sports, as a vehicle to reach young people. We teach that achievement in the classroom is even more important than the performance on the field. As a result we have established an academic monitoring and award program that all of our participants must participate in if they want to play for the organization. In addition, we teach our kids community responsibility by having our members participate in food drives for local food pantries, coat and blanket drives for local shelters, and raising money for important community awareness programs.
We must take an active role in preventing our children from involvement in anti-social behaviors. We understand that education, purpose, direction, community involvement and role modeling is key to a positive successful transition from childhood to adulthood. In order to provide this program we need your help. We desperately need corporate and community support to fund our academic mentoring program, to maintain quality equipment, and provide a safe playing environment for our children. Registration fees paid by participants go toward paying league fees, insurance, referee cost, cheer competitions and the expenses of rental fees for our practice and playing fields. After mandatory fees, little if any money is left to cover implementation of an academic monitoring program and maintenance of our football equipment.
